Essential Lessons for Collective Action
February 15 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Community Planning Discussion Group
The Uncommon Knowledge of Elinor Ostrom
Essential lessons for collective action
Elinor Ostrom studied and conducted research on collaborative approaches to shared resources, resulting in her receiving the 2009 Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences-the first woman to do so. Join the League of Women Voters of Corvallis as we discuss a book outlining the development of Ostrom’s ideas, and examples of how ‘people and communities can and do come together to act sustainably for their collective benefit’.
Don’t have time to read/can’t locate the book?
See Elinor Ostrom’s presentation to the 2009 Nobel Committee. Or check out a slide show summarizing the books chapters.
This is a discussion, not a presentation. To get the most out of the discussion, please review the resources linked above before the meeting.
